Certification of Translation

For the certification of translation from Italian to English or English to Italian, it is necessary to submit the original document along with the complete translation.
The translation can only be certified for documents issued by entities/institutions located within this or jurisdiction. (https://consnewyork.esteri.it/it/chi-siamo/la-rete-consolare/).
The documents must be properly legalized and bear an Apostille.

The Consulate General does not offer translation services. Those interested might contact a professional translator.
(https://consnewyork.esteri.it/it/servizi-consolari-e-visti/servizi-per-il-cittadino-italiano/traduzione-e-legalizzazione-dei-documenti/).

The documentation must be sent to the following address:

Consulate General of Italy
690 Park Avenue, New York, NY, 10065
Att.ne LEGAL OFFICE.

Inside the envelope, the following must be included:

  • A self-addressed stamped envelope for the return. The sender and recipient must be the same. The Consulate cannot appear as the sender;
  • A money order made out to “Consulate General of Italy” – with the first and last name of the applicant in the “from/sender” field, for the amount corresponding to the consular fee indicated in Article 72 A for the translation compliance from English to Italian.
