ENROLLMENT IN ITALIAN UNIVERSITIES

ENROLLMENT OF FOREIGN STUDENTS IN COURSES AT UNIVERSITIES, FINE ARTS ACCADEMIES AND MUSIC AND CORAL CONSERVATORIES.

Please note that you can find updated information on enrollment in Italian Universities in the website of the Ministry of Education (MIUR)  (http://www.istruzione.it)

Besides general information about how Universities are structured and work, you will find application forms (in English.)

Please be informed that Italian and foreign students can access Italian universities if they have:

  •  High School diploma with three Advanced Placement (APs), one of which must be in Italian and the others in subjects similar to the chosen course of studies;
  •  High School diploma with four Advanced Placement (APs) in subjects different from the chosen course of studies, followed by one academic year completed in a College. If one of the APs is in Italian, it can be considered valid for all courses of study;
  •  High School diploma followed by two academic years completed in a College. Credits are valid even if obtained after the High School Diploma in an academic institution in a country different form the US but they must be evaluated locally. This course of studies cannot be shorter than one academic year.

If you are enrolling in Medical School you need to have passed the IMAT exam

Students who reside in the US and are Italian citizens can personally enroll at the Italian University of their choice.   Foreign students will have to apply to the University through this Consulate.   Dates to apply will be announced  in this website as soon as available.

CORSI SINGOLI

Non Eu – Students  residing in this consular jurisdiction who wish to apply to “corsi singoli” (for a semester or an entire academic year) must do so through this Consulate. You will find useful information and deadlines in the following website:

Please note that credits earned through “corsi singoli” will not be valid to obtain a degree at Italian Universities (Laurea, laurea magistrale.)

To access those courses open to a limited number of students (“numero programmato”) foreign students must register online in order to pre-enroll at the admission tests at the National level  http://www.universitaly.it.

Registration dates will be announced as soon as notified by the Ministry of Education (MIUR)
