

From 3 to March 8, the Italian Frigate Alpino will moor in New York, after completing the C2X (Composite Training Unit Exercise) 2026 training campaign with the U.S. Navy.
The Ship, an anti-submarine version of the Bergamini class, characterized by high flexibility, multi-role capabilities and state-of-the-art technological equipment for underwater warfare, has been certified to operate within the USS George H. W. Bush Carrier Strike Group (CSG 10).
During her port call in New York, the Italian Frigate Alpino will be open for tours. Visiting hours are:
- 4 March: from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 3:30 p.m. to 06.30 p.m.
- 6, 7 and 8 March: from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 3:30 p.m. to 06.30 p.m
The Pier where the Frigate will moor is going to be announced on this website in the coming days.
About the ship
The ITS Alpino (F594) is the fifth Frigate of the Bergamini class, the fourth to be made in the anti-submarine warfare version.
144 metres long, 20 metres wide and with a displacement of 6,700 tonnes, the Frigate is named in honour of one of the Italian Army’s historic specialities.
In addition to a crew of 168, the Ship can accommodate a helicopter section for two aircraft, a complex command staff and a team from the San Marco Marine Brigade or Special Forces.
