As usual, the March issue opens with an update on the Italian macroeconomic outlook<\/strong>. This is followed by an in-depth analysis of Italy’s intellectual property protection system<\/strong>. In 2025, patent activity saw a sharp increase, reflecting the growing dynamism of organizations involved in R&D and technological innovation. This is evidenced by nearly 12,000 patent applications and over 2,000 utility models. Finally, the sector focus highlights the Italian cosmetics industry<\/strong>, which employs 440,000 workers. In 2024, the sector ranked 4th globally and 3rd in Europe in terms of export value.<\/p>\n

This publication serves as a key channel for “growth diplomacy,” designed to provide qualified international investors with a concise, effective, and up-to-date analysis of the opportunities offered by Italy. The document continues to be a strategic tool for promoting a modern narrative regarding Italy\u2019s economic outlook and attracting foreign investment by highlighting the often-overlooked strengths of the national system.<\/p>\n

The February issue opens, as usual, with an update on the Italian macroeconomic context<\/b>. This is followed by an in-depth analysis of the implementation of a series of reforms redefining EU customs procedures<\/b>, import duties, enforcement mechanisms, and border environmental measures. For Italy, these reforms will directly impact import costs, compliance requirements, and supply chain organization. Finally, this month\u2019s Industry Focus<\/b> spotlights the Italian sporting goods industry<\/b>, where Italy ranks 5th globally and 2nd in Europe among exporters (with the United States as the primary export destination). The newsletter helps strengthen a modern, data-driven narrative on Italy\u2019s economic prospects, showcasing strengths and growth trajectories that are sometimes less known abroad.<\/p>\n

The January issue begins with the customary macroeconomic update<\/b>. It is followed by an analysis of the Regulatory Simplification Law<\/b>; approved in early December 2025, this law is part of a broader institutional strategy to make public administration faster, clearer, and more predictable for both businesses and citizens. This month\u2019s Industry Focus<\/b> centers on the Italian machine tool industry<\/b>, a sector characterized by a dense network of specialized, export-oriented SMEs.
