On the occasion of the opening of the exhibition “Moroni: The Riches of Renaissance Portraiture”, a major retrospective currently on display at the Frick Collection from February 21st to June, 2nd 2019, the Consulate General of Italy in New York hosted a talk between Xavier Salomon, Peter Jay Sharp Chief Curator, Frick Collection, and Arturo Galansino, Director General of the Palazzo Strozzi Foundation and Co-curator of the Moroni's exhibition.
The conversation, which will take place on Monday February 18th at 6 pm, will be moderated by Mario Calvo-Platero and will focus on the issue of art exhibitions as A cultural bridge between New York and the Italian communities.

Following the series of events “Meet the New Italians of New York”, the Consulate General of Italy is launching a new project:New York Loves Italy.

Every two months, Park Ave 690 will host renowned experts of the New York community to discuss in an informal context the important role that Italy has had in their training and everyday life in New York.

Each event is focused on a specific sector (innovation, food, art, entertainment, sports,
etc.) and aims at creating new bridges between New Yorkers in love with Italy and Italians in love with New York. At each meeting, two experts who share their admiration for Italy will talk about their professional areas and present their personal and cultural experiences to an Italian and American audience.

It will be an opportunity to prove once again how the Italian way of life is a source of inspiration for New Yorkers, who have always been generous to Italy. Especially in times of need, New York’s solidarity has been there for Italy.

New York Loves Italy is a new project promoted by the Consulate General of Italy, in the framework of the strategies outlined by the Embassy of Italy in Washington DC. Through this series, Park Avenue 690 intends to once again open its doors to friends of Italy and become a place where ideas are exchanged and connections are made, a place where the love for Italy is not only founded on its extraordinary tradition, but most of all on its drive for innovation.
