The Consulate assists Italian citizens who need administrative practices.

Some services provided by the Consulate are free, others are paid.

The following table gives information on their free and paid costs of the proceedings:


Services Free of Charge

  • Enrollment in the A.I.R.E. (Registry of Italian Nationals residing abroad)
  • Transmission of vital records documents for registration with Italian municipalities
  • Acts related to military service
  • Travel document for repatriation
  • Declaration of repatriationLife Certificate


Payed Consular Services Fees

Starting August 1st 2015, consular fees can only be paid in cash or by money order.
Credit/debit cards and personal checks are not accepted.

If you are paying with a money order, it must be completed in its entirety.
It should be made out to the “Consulate General of Italy - New York” and must have your name and address indicated in the appropriate area.
The money order must be of the exact amount as indicated in our Consular Services Fees.

Payment is made here at the Consulate on the day of your appointment and it is due in U.S. Dollars only.
